OmniDeck: The control centre for Second Life clubs and DJs

A better way to run a Second Life club

Running a Second Life club involves much more than booking a DJ. Owners and staff need to promote events, keep residents informed, publish line-ups, share landmarks, manage DJs, organise media and make sure visitors can find the right information quickly.

OmniDeck brings those jobs together in one self-hosted website platform made for Second Life clubs, DJs, radio stations and virtual venues.

What OmniDeck does

OmniDeck gives a club its own professional home outside group chat and scattered social posts. A club can publish its schedule, posters, Second Life region links, DJ profiles, live streams, recorded sets, podcasts, videos, announcements and contact information in one place.

Visitors can see what is happening next, open a destination or teleport link, meet the DJs, listen to previous sets and return later to find the next event. DJs can maintain their own profile, recordings, episodes and media while the club keeps control of the wider event calendar.

Why it helps club owners

Second Life club information is often spread across group notices, Discord, social media, landmark folders and individual DJ profiles. That makes updates easy to miss and creates extra work for staff.

With OmniDeck, a club can update one event record and keep the important information together:

  • event date and time
  • venue or region name
  • poster or flyer
  • DJ line-up and description
  • Second Life destination or teleport URL
  • radio stream or livestream link
  • ticket, group, Discord and social links

Finished events can move automatically into a past-events archive, so the club keeps a record of its history without rebuilding old pages manually.

Built for DJs as well as clubs

OmniDeck is not only an events calendar. DJs can use it to present their identity, publish mixes and podcast episodes, upload artwork, share original productions, add booking information and connect visitors to YouTube, Twitch, SoundCloud, Spotify and other communities.

This gives a resident DJ or guest artist a useful home on the club website while leaving the club in control of the overall presentation.

How it works

OmniDeck is installed on ordinary PHP and MySQL/MariaDB hosting. After installation, club owners and authorised staff use the private admin area to manage the site.

  1. Set the club name, logo, colours and homepage content.
  2. Add DJs, staff accounts, pages and navigation links.
  3. Create upcoming Second Life events with posters and destination URLs.
  4. Add live radio, livestreams, recorded sets, videos and social links.
  5. Publish announcements and moderate community comments.
  6. Let completed events become part of the club's past-events archive.

Because the site is self-hosted, the club owns its domain and controls its content. OmniDeck provides the platform; the club chooses its hosting, branding, media and community links.

A public front door for the club

For visitors, OmniDeck creates a clear route from discovery to attendance. They can arrive at the club website, understand the club's identity, find the next event, open the Second Life destination, hear the DJs and follow the club's wider community.

For owners and staff, it replaces repeated updates across several places with a central content system designed around the way virtual clubs operate.

OmniDeck gives Second Life clubs and DJs one place to be discovered, heard, visited and remembered.
